ABOUT

An anglophone born and raised in Montréal, Tobi Panter’s love of language was cultivated from an early age. She holds a BA in Modern Languages from McGill University and an MA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Victoria in BC. She speaks and writes in five languages.

Tobi’s lifelong interest in language led to a twelve-year career as an ESL teacher and is now explored through her creative writing in both English and Spanish.

In her late thirties she began a second career as a natural medicine practitioner, qualifying in acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition. She also completed training as a Hakomi body-centred psychotherapist. With an intellectual and experiential passion for low-tech, high-benefit medicine, she has been a natural health care advocate and consultant for about 20 years.

Tobi and her husband divide their time between the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island and their southern home in the dynamic cordillera oriental in the Andes of Colombia.
